We are familiar with "Jana Gana Mana", the National Anthem of our country. "Jana Gana Mana" was officially adopted by the Constituent Assembly as the Indian national anthem on 24 January 1950. It was written and composed by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Amar Shonar Bangla', written by Rabindranath Tagore to protest the Partition of Bengal in 1905, was adopted by Bangladesh later in 1971 as their national anthem. It is also said that Ananda Samarakoon who wrote the Sri Lankan National Anthem " Sri Lanka Matha" was inspired by Rabindranath Tagore.
